Rodney Dangerfield born as Jacob Cohen on November 22nd, 1921 in Babylon, New York was a famous American standup comedian and actor. In the '90s, Rodney Dangerfield tattoo became the most popular tattoo among the people in their late twenties and thirties in United States. He took the name 'Rodney Dangerfield', a comical name used by Jack Benny on his radio program in December 1941.

Rodney Dangerfield was born to performing artist Philip Cohen. Rodney grew up writing jokes for standup comics and began performing under the pseudonym Jack Roy. He struggled as an upcoming artist initially. Unable to meet both ends, Rodney Dangerfield took up work as a salesman selling aluminum to support his family.

Rodney Dangerfield finally got a break on The Ed Sullivan Show. His performance on the show has been refreshingly new as he became the butt of his own jokes and the audiences had a hearty laugh at his expense. He soon consolidated his position as a stand-up comedian creating thousands of jokes on his own, giving repeat performances on The Ed Sullivan Show, The Dean Martin Show, and The Tonight Show on which he appeared at least seventy times.

Rodney Dangerfield bought a Manhattan nightclub in 1969. The "Dangerfield" has been the venue for many a stand-up comedians including Jim Carrey, Roseanne Barr, Tim Allen, Jeff Foxworthy, Jerry Seinfeld, Andrew Dice Clay, Bob Saget, Rita Rudner, Sam Kinison and several others.
